A day to remember

Sun 11 Nov, I managed to attend three very different musical offerings, 100 years after Armistice Day.  First off, I touched on a little of the sound art event at Melbourne’s M-Pavilion, Aftermath, curated by Peter Knight and Aviva Endean.

In the afternoon, Elision Ensemble presented the Melbourne edition of 100 for 100, a world-wide celebration of Polish composers on the centenary of Poland as an independent state.

Finally, Arcko Ensemble with If Not In This World, new ensemble pieces inspired by events 100 years ago.

Thanks to everyone involved – around 50 musicians all-up, and countless more technicians, organizers, helpers, etc. Not to mention days and weeks of preparation.

A day to remember, but I think I need a day off now!
